Stanford Taiko is Stanford University’s resident taiko ensemble. With over 30 years of history, we aim to spread the art of Japanese American ensemble drumming to the local community.

Auditions 2026

Are you a current Stanford student interested in joining? Come to our annual try-outs, starting on Monday, September 29th! If you’d like to audition or are just curious, learn more here.

Spring Concert 2026

Our annual spring concert took place on Saturday, May 2nd in Bing Concert Hall. Spring concert is our biggest performance of the year, and this year’s show featured multiple new compositions. Watch the livestream archive here!

fIRST PERFORMANCE 2026

ITI concert 2025

On Sunday, May 25th, we hosted the 31st Annual Intercollegiate Taiko Invitational (ITI) concert, featuring performances by 13 collegiate taiko groups from the West Coast.
